Insolvency Consulting Program
As part of your consumer proposal or bankruptcy, you are required to complete the Insolvency Consultation Program, which includes the following two phases:
- Budgeting
- Planning for the future by setting financial goals
Each phase includes a online component and consultation in person or by videoconference.
The online component and in-person or videoconference consultations complement each other.
Introduction to the Insolvency Consulting Program
Which means you can access it whenever it suits you best.
Phase 1
Budgeting
The online section allows you to review the following two modules:
- Introductory module
- Budgeting module
The introduction will provide you with orientation and introduce you to the Insolvency Consulting Program. The introduction usually lasts about 10 minutes.
The budgeting module will help you draw up a personalized and realistic basic budget. This module typically lasts about 35 minutes. During your first consultation session, either in person or by videoconference, you will discuss your personal budget with your advisor.
Phase 2
Planning for the future
The online component allows you to take the following modules:
- Module on setting and achieving financial targets
(this module generally lasts about 20 minutes) - Spending habits module
(this module usually lasts about 10 minutes) - Module on responsible use of credit
(this module usually lasts about 30 minutes)
